The world is full of distractions right now, in particular, so what is the most important thing to do to navigate the course?
Indulge me for a moment, and let’s unpack this a little.
What I hear a lot of is, ignore the noise and do your thing.
While some ‘news’ can be switched off, others have a direct impact and it’s hard not to be swept up in whatever is going on.
Now news is not just what is happening in the world that you hear through a media outlet, news can also be more personal or relating to a key supplier to a team member.
You can also change your perspective, because when times are tough for some, opportunities arise for others.
Not everything is ‘bad’ when it comes to distractions, innovation is perhaps the largest disruptor at the moment for business; from keeping pace to choosing when to jump on board and how to measure its value.
All these boil down to a degree of chaos we have in business every day, because no day ever goes 100% how you planned it.

Chaos is going on all around us, whether it is on a global scale or simply that today your meeting got delayed and the whole day is thrown out as a result.
We also then looked at what happens if you turn it around, given what happened in the recent Presidential election and consider whether creating chaos is a valid strategy for business?
Steve says, “As leaders we have to be very aware that innovation is critical. It’s vital. It’s really really important. But so is our people. So is our systems and processes. And so is the ability to make money and win and be profitable.”
